The job of a healthcare worker is significant and responsible. These people are of the utmost importance in treating patients and providing them with a full range of medical services. This can be as simple consultations with general practitioners, small discussions with psychologists, or complete treatment in a health care institution. Each of these areas has one key feature that makes them familiar and depends on the entire treatment and care process. It is about nurses who care most about their patients and whose work is often unappreciated, but this is not the case. These people help doctors and serve as an essential link between the patient and the person who has to treat them.
This connection through communication with the nursing profession is critical and directly impacts the entire treatment process. However, it is also essential to consider the training of nurses so that the whole process of treatment and communication with the patient goes smoothly and without problems on either side. This presentation will focus not only on the importance of education itself but also offer options that can help future nurses become qualified and describe what techniques to use for more effective treatment.
Thus, we can conclude that nursing education is necessary because nurses play a direct role in the treatment and help patients feel better when they are in the nursing facility and are constantly caring. However, these are not all of the duties that are on a nurse’s to-do list. It is also important to be with the doctor when needed, to be attentive and caring to patients, and at the same time to monitor medication administration. These duties are very important and must be observed every day, which requires a high level of coordination and performance, even despite the stress this job brings. Therefore, the first thing nurses must learn is to control their emotions and use them properly for the patient’s benefit.
It should be kept in mind that showing too much empathy can alienate a patient, as can being significantly insensitive. Therefore, it is vital to keep a balance and be the person to each of those patients. It is worth understanding that the hospital is the place where people can die. This fact should be taken into account because it significantly affects the work process in case the employee has sympathy for one or another patient. Therefore, it is crucial to be able to restrain themselves and constantly be under stress, and despite this, use the nurses’ work at the highest level because many lives depend on it.
It is essential to remember that many hospitals are changing to a more digitalized version of record keeping. Many institutions are now trying to incorporate gadgets into their system, which help doctors and nurses monitor patients’ conditions and communicate with the attending staff. This saves a tremendous amount of time and makes life easier because, with devices like these, one does not have to pay special attention to each of the patients, but rather be more modernized and have access to all of the people at once. However, such a system consists of many disadvantages. One of them is that the system is quite complicated since it appeared recently and requires handling skills.
Due to the fact that this type of monitoring and communication is entirely new, it is necessary to understand that not everyone will be able to learn how to use such devices at once. This should be given a remarkable amount of time and attention, as the development of such devices, although it simplifies life in many ways, needs experience in handling its system. In this regard, it is crucial to take professional development courses, which are now important and give a general understanding of how this kind of system is arranged. Thus, it is possible to learn how to use such devices and sharpen the skills obtained in the course of work earlier.
Equally important will be the use of artificial intelligence programs, which are now being tested in training. Such innovations can help young nurses who do not yet have experience working with actual patients. Thus, it can be said that by using new training programs, it is possible to achieve results that correspond to the practical training during the preparation for actual work in the hospital through the use of augmented reality technology (Albougami, 2017). This will allow to expect better results in the future and not expose patients to danger due to the inexperience of new staff. Therefore, attending such courses is essential and helps to develop both the missing skills from the simulator and the in-depth knowledge that is already present. It will also have a positive effect on the overall treatment and social work process, especially with patients.
However, it should not be forgotten that human life is the most important thing despite the digitalization of the entire treatment and monitoring process. It measures the success of whoever takes care of the system. It is essential to understand that despite the software, which significantly reduces the number of problems associated with treatment, the patient needs human care and attention. Moreover, even though such programs are available, it is vital to give enough attention to those who need them.
It is worth noting that not all healthcare workers have this kind of socialization skill. Moreover, this ability and knowledge of the medical business are critical. Therefore, to further work in this type of profession, it is necessary to have a general idea of how to work with other people. In many ways, this type of work is similar to teaching, although there is a number of huge differences. In order to improve socialization skills, one needs to be a direct participant in various social gatherings or work with people directly. To prepare for this type of activity, one must approach it thoroughly, so visits to a psychologist can be the best way to solve this problem. This type of activity has closer social contact with other people and can tell how to act in this or that situation (Caputi & National League For Nursing, 2017). Therefore, it is crucial to listen to the advice of psychologists and attend lectures, which also give a general idea about the concept of socialization.
In all the ways described above, the hospital should also be involved and may be interested in having a highly qualified specialist within their staff. This means that such institutions must have all the necessary materials and specialists so that the learning process runs smoothly and allows for good results in the near future. The concept of materials includes not only books and training materials but also the opportunity to adapt to the new environment and the provision of personal mentor services (Caputi & National League For Nursing, 2017). This mentor will help not only to learn new material but also to adapt to a new place of work, as it also significantly affects the overall work process.
It is also worth noting that interaction with patients is only one part of the job. Another no less important aspect is filling out reports and documents. This type of work requires high coordination skills, the ability to search for all necessary information and its structuring. Although technology has evolved to the point where there is almost no need to use physical recording devices, saving fundamental data is still important (“MOOCs and the Future of Nursing,” 2018). Therefore, it is also necessary to learn the skills of data collection and archiving, which will help in the future to better understand medical histories and fill out the required forms and reports.
In conclusion, it can be said that despite the underestimation of the nursing profession, it is no less important than the treatment itself. It is the kind of activity that allows patients to fully experience the whole treatment without consequences and to have an overview of the service in the facility. Thus, we can also say that nurses are the embodiment of how the hospital works and what functions it provides. It is just as important in terms of the institution’s reputation as well as giving proper treatment and helping doctors in their work.
