The Purpose was to investigate the processes that families have been using to care for the depressed and suicidal loved ones at home (Nosek, 2008, p. 36). This was qualitative study that used the ground theory for data collection and analysis. The author, Dr. Nosek is well conversant with depression and suicidal cases among families as she is an associate professor of Nursing and works at Daemen College, department of science. The article’s strength was utilization of social constructionist model for data collection. This allowed collection sensitive information. The intervention upon early identification of symptoms include guiding and counseling for the families and the affected individuals (Nosek, 2008, p. 37). Extreme cases would necessitate hospitalization where the victim will be provided with pharmacological care. The main limitation was sample selection. Purposeful sampling cannot be generalized as a representation of the population (Nosek, 2008, p. 38). Validity cannot be termed authentic.
