Data collection plays a significant role in determining the success of a vaccine rollout. Firstly, it guides the CDC on the effective delivery of the vaccine. Through the data available about the population, the CDC is informed of the doses required for delivery. This may include the number of doses required for children and adults in a particular region.
Secondly, data collection is essential in determining the performance of the rollout. The CDC can easily refer to the data and determine whether the rollout target is achieved, including how many people are vaccinated compared to the general population (Hou et al., 2021). With a positive attitude of the public towards the vaccine, the expected number of people taking the vaccine will be higher. The plan also contains data collection methods, including conducting surveys and polls to determine the general public’s level of knowledge towards Covid-19 vaccines and determine the popular myths and misconceptions. This will be the starting point for the medical team to counter the anti-vaxxers. Obtaining data from the state health department will also be essential in determining the vulnerable groups. This data will help the state identify the groups that are affected the most and prioritize vaccinating them to reduce the severity of the virus. Following the above action plan will make it easier for the state to roll out the vaccines without much opposition because of positive public opinion.
