Introduction

Increasing the number of nurse practitioners (NPs) by broadening their scope of practice (SOP) may assist in fulfilling the rising demand for primary care. With no practice arrangements or guidelines, nurse practitioners with training would be able to practice autonomously from doctors (Martsolf et al., 2022). Practice partnerships and procedures will still be necessary for NPs, but they can be with doctors or other NPs who will be in charge of monitoring. The New Nurse Practitioner Modernization Act is a new way of looking at nursing development. This work was written to study the new The Nurse Practitioner Modernization Act of New York State of 2022.

Discussion

The significance of nurse practitioners in providing patients with high-quality care in a variety of settings, especially in medically disadvantaged populations, has long been recognized both nationally and in New York. No of how much training a healthcare professional has, they were compelled to create a written practice agreement with a physician in New York State if the Nurse Practitioner Modernization Act was not approved (Martsolf et al., 2022). Access to essential healthcare services and supplier networks will be severely disrupted if the existing law expires.

To practice and provide patient care, all NPs in New York State were required by prior laws to obtain a signed practice arrangement with a doctor. Despite a massive rise in demand, New York nurse practitioners on the front lines constantly demonstrate their commitment to their patients (Martsolf et al., 2022). The goal of the policy reform was to improve patient access to treatment by increasing the number of NPs available in underserved areas, such as rural and low-income communities.

Conclusion

The fact that this law updates the Education Law to acknowledge NPs as partner organizations in their cooperative approach to treatment and as providers of trusted accessibility to care for patients is equally significant. NPs would remain to adhere to best practices to ensure that care is provided and the most suitable treatment (Martsolf et al., 2022). They would treat patients when it was within their purview or, if necessary, transfer the case to another practitioner or expert.
