The combination of external and internal evidence-based practice (EBP) dissemination strategies seems to be a useful solution. The primary goal of dissemination is to make relevant information available to the members of interdisciplinary teams, while it is especially valuable for nurses, who are the main person responsible for direct care. Indeed, internal dissemination is important, and it can be provided using group sessions and discussions. For example, the cases of successful EBP implementation can be discussed in small groups to make sure that all team members understand the goals and ways to adopt new care strategies. At the same time, the failures that occurred in hospitals can also be considered, paying attention to patient confidentiality. Melnyk et al. (2011) state that organizational policies are critical to encouraging staff to use EBP, which can be achieved by creating a supportive culture. To improve the implementation of EBP interventions, it is also useful to equip nurses with brochures or brief lists of care recommendations, stressing that they helped other patients, which is confirmed by research.
Long conference waiting times and a lack of constructive feedback are common barriers. However, it is possible to recommend focusing on active dissemination strategies that imply interaction with viewers. In terms of external dissemination, official medical and nursing forums can be used to initiate discussions. As for internal dissemination, online means of communication seem to be viable as they are convenient and safe (Mallonee et al., 2018). Based on Zoom or any other available platform, knowledge dissemination can be provided as interactive sessions with care providers. In general, multifaceted approaches that involve a range of dissemination strategies are the best to share more information and motivate employees to use it in practice.
